Homegrown super-talent Sam Smith will be performing live for BBC Radio 2 In Concert on Thursday 3rd September at the BBC Radio Theatre in London, presented by Jo Whiley and broadcast live on Radio 2, BBC Red Button and online at bbc.co.uk/radio2 from 8pm.
Having wowed fans with appearances throughout the summer, the multi-award winning singer will return to his hometown to treat an intimate audience to the songs which have made him one of the most popular artists of the moment.
Sam Smith says: ‘I have had such an amazing summer on tour, but excited to be coming home to perform for Radio 2. I love performing at huge gigs, but being able to do more intimate shows like Radio 2’s In Concert is a dream and such a great way to connect with my fans.’
The singer has achieved international success with his sensational debut album In the Lonely Hour, and has won a phenomenal number of awards including four Grammys, three Brit Awards and three Billboard Music Awards.
Smith was also named as BBC Sound of 2014, an accolade nominated by journalists, influential bloggers, DJs, and TV and radio producers. Previous winners include Adele, Jessie J and Ellie Goulding.
Tickets for the event can be applied for online at bbc.co.uk/radio2. The ticket giveaway is open from 8.30pm on Monday 24th August until 10.00pm on Wednesday 26th August.
