After a busy year touring in Europe, including UK and Ireland, Donegal folk and roots trio the Henry Girls have released their new album “Louder than Words,” which is set to delight a growing international audience.
“Louder than Words” brings together the Henry Girls’ trademark three part harmonies sitting warmly alongside Joleen’s harp with a nod to Irish folk and Americana, evoking shades of Gillian Welch and The Indigo Girls.
Absorbing New Influences
Since the release of their much-acclaimed “December Moon,” nominated in the Huffington Post’s Top 10 albums of 2013 and produced by Calum Malcolm (Lau, Blue Nile, Heidi Talbot), Karen, Lorna and Joleen have continued absorbing new influences. Listeners have said “Louder than Words” is their finest work to date.
A musical fusion of the Donegal coastline and the Appalachian mountains, the Henry Girls combine their Irish heritage with a contemporary sound imbued with compassion, insight and warmth. “Louder Than Words” has already been declared a fresh and finely crafted body of work with strong folk roots that invite you into the Henry Girls’ Donegal world.
Their new single “Maybe” taken from the album will be released in the U.K on 30 June 2014.
