NSE INTERVIEW – ESTHER EDEN – UNIVERSAL MUSIC MENA
How would you describe your music ?
My music has beats you can dance and chill to, with lyrics that people can connect and relate to.
What is your new single about and where did the inspiration come from ?
I wrote “Is This Love” when I was 16 years old. It’s about how there can be different kinds of love. The love you may have for your family, pets, your passion and so much more. The lyrics in the song describes how I felt the world was when I felt that kind of love.
Why did you decide to play the genre or genres/style of music you do ?
I am versatile in different genres – for eg in my album there is a rockish song called “This is what it feels like”… I also love jazz so you can say I am still trying to find my niche.
What’s next for you ?
My next single should drop in the first quarter of the year. I will keep making music till I am noticed.
What are the 5 things you can’t live without ?
Music, my supporters, my family, my pets and food
Fave song in charts right now ?
Ed Sheeran – Castle On The Hill
What instruments, equipment, recording and production gear do you use ?
I have an Ibanez semi acoustic guitar that I use.
Do you prefer recording to live work ?
Both have their own excitement. Recording and live work both bring out the creativity in an artist but in different ways. You have the adrenalin rush at a performance yet you have the satisfaction of amazing music being recorded in the other hand.
What are your long-term career goals ?
I would like to be a musician who is respected and renowned for their art.
A day in the life of Esther Eden ?
Right now I have taken gap year to concentrate on my music. Since I have never been trained I have now started going for vocal training to help me along the way.
